DESCRIPTION

‘Facile Heights’ is an interactive installation in which performers connect audience members with a single piece of string. Crossing, slicing and dividing the space, the string acts as a physical manifestation of the piece’s storyline, creating a delicate network that is held in place by the audience. Live poetry, music and movement composition emerge from the heart and expand out to the periphery, activating the mobile structure and transforming it into ‘an instrument of space’. Playing with notions of tension, equilibrium and suspense, the performers re-enact Penelope’s unravelling and Molly Bloom’s soliloquy* in a complex entanglement of bodies, voices and sound.
